Q. Who should use SnugServer?
Any small to medium size business
or any home user.
Q.
When I buy SnugServer, do I get all the Servers?
Yes.
Q. What do I need to run SnugServer?
Permanent Internet connection e.g. DSL and ideally, a dedicated computer.
Q. Do I have
to use all the Snug Servers?
Despite the fact that SnugServer comes with an Email Server, FTP Server, Web Server, ListServer and NewsServer, you do not have to use them all.
You decide what servers you wish to configure and use.
Server configuration is carried out in one central place (Server Settings
under Control Center) and servers can be activated/deactivated in a single click.
Configuration is quick and easy.
Q. How do I
migrate my current host provider to SnugServer?
If you currently use your ISP for mail and/or web hosting then you just need to follow
these simple steps:
1. Purchase and Install SnugServer
2. If you have a fixed IP address:
Get your ISP to add your domain to their DNS servers pointing to your fixed IP address
or Get an account with a DNS service such as http://www.dyndns.org or http://www.networksolutionsdns.com
3. If you have a dynamic IP address then http://www.dyndns.org will provide an update facility for your domain settings.
This means that each time you reconnect to the service your new IP address will be configured on the server.
Q. What do I need upfront to use SnugServer?
Connection Type:
Minimum of DSL/Cable
Ideally a Static IP Address
Operating System:
Windows NT and above.
Disk Space:
Depending on email traffic allow about 50 megabytes to run SnugServer
Hardware:
Recommended minimum would be 500mhz Pentium and 128Meg Ram
SnugServer has been tested on 100Mhz NT4 servers.

There are no known
compatibility issues.
